Favourite ingredients - plums
The summer’s about to end, but the plum trees are still rich. We’re also rich without realising it.
So, I’ll tell you about the natural sweetness of my desserts these days.
Today: plums
What terrifies me the most when working with plums? That I might find worms in them! Then again, plums are organic if I do find worms.
Where do I get plums from? I love my plums from one side or the other of the Prut River.
Why do I love them? If I were to choose the flavour of August, it’s been the one of hot plum dumplings since childhood.
How do I use them? Plums – from the dumplings that I’ve just mentioned to plum pizzas and plum clafoutis (on my recipe list); prunes – from chocolate prunes to walnut-stuffed prunes.
